On Monday (9/5/2022), the teaser trailer for Avatar 2: The Way of Water was released.
The Avatar 2 teaser trailer first aired in theaters over the weekend, at the beginning of Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The teaser trailer for Avatar 2: The Way of Water is now available on YouTube and social media.
Each of the four Avatar sequels will revolve around the return of Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, and Na’vi Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldaa.
The Avatar 2: Way of Water teaser trailer takes to set a decade after the events of the first film and has breathtaking imagery such as Pandora’s blue ocean.
The clip features the Toruk, a flying creature from the first film, as well as new animals such as whales.
Sigourney Weaver reprises her role as Dr. Grace Augustine, and Stephen Lang reprises his role as Colonel Miles Quaritch.
It also has some big-name newcomers, such as Vin Diesel and Kate Winslet.
Avatar, the first film, was released in 2009. With total revenue of $2.84 billion US dollars, James Cameron’s film is the highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office.
The Avatar 2: Way of Water teaser trailer was shown in 3D at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum last week.
During the event, producer Jon Landau announced intentions to re-release the first Avatar in theaters with enhanced vision and sound on September 23, 2022.
Avatar 2: The Way of Water is set to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022.
